Historical reenactment of the air war in the early days of World War Two for control of the skies over Britain as the new Luftwaffa and the Royal Air Force determine whether or not an invasion can take place.

Based upon Gustave Flauberts 1858 novel Salammbo, this is the epic story of love and hate, revenge and rivalry. Taking place during the fall of Carthage to the Roman Empire, you play Spendius, slave and close companion of Matho, a Libyan mercenary, who is in love with Salammbo, General Hamilcars daughter. As Spendius you must outwit rebel forces and rescue the City of Carthage as well as reunite Matho with his true love.

The game features music from Mozarts Requiem, and rich graphics designed by famed French artist Philippe Druillet whose illustrations also appear in Ring: Legend of Nibelungen and its sequel Ring II. Druillet rescued Salammbo from Cryo, the company who began the development, and finished the product himself.

A workingclass man named Marcos and his wife kidnap a baby for ransom money, but it goes tragically wrong when the infant dies. In another world is Ana, the daughter of the general for whom he drives, who does sexual acts to any man for pleasure. Marcos confesses his guilt to her in his troubled search for relief, and then finds himself on his knees amid the multitude of believers moving slowly toward the Basilica in honor of the Lady of Guadalupe.

The angle of telling the historical story from the fighting man's perspective, was suspensefully implemented. I witnessed the view of the invading Vikings, shared their long journey via the North Atlantic , the excitement of pillaging the anglo -saxon villages, and their thirst for a adventures battles. The main focus however was on the anglo - saxon peasants, who had to leave their homesteads and their loved ones behind, to fight the invaders. Expecting an attack from William the Conquerer from Normandy they had to guard the Sussex Coast. When News arrived, that a mighty Viking force was attacking the Midlands, 200 miles north.
